The C3 Pluriel meets
all the criteria set by the German TÜV
test standard, currently the most stringent
vehicle rollover strength test.
Providing this level of protection in spider
configuration requires the use of large-diameter,
thick-wall reinforced steel tubes located
inside the windscreen pillars, seat back
frames and rear head restraints. This integrated
reinforcing tube is 40 mm in diameter and
creates a virtually non-deformable rear
platform.
The longitudinal roof arches extend this
protection in cabriolet and saloon configurations.
Containing a 55 mm diameter, 4 mm thick
aluminium reinforcing tube along their full
length, the arches and their structural
mountings can resist lateral and compression
loadings of several tonnes in the event
of the car rolling over.
Central locking of the doors and tailgate,
high-frequency remote control with transponder
and automatic relocking of the vehicle in
the event of error all help deliver maximum
protection for the C3 Pluriel. |
