2007 Ever show

Citroën has a longstanding commitment to environmental protection. Today, more than half of the vehicles it sells in Europe (54%) emit less than 140 g of CO2 per km, and none of its HDi diesel supermini models emits more than 120 g of CO2/km.

Citroën manufactures vehicles that respect the environment while boasting top-level performance, all at the most affordable price for the greatest number.

At this year’s EVER show (on renewable energy and clean vehicles) held from 29 March to 1 April in Monaco, Citroën will be exhibiting the C4 Bio Flex and the passenger car version of the C3 CNG on stand V160. The C3 CNG will also be on display at the AMIF fair (Association of the Town Halls of Ile de France) on 3 – 5 April 2007 at the Parc Floral de Vincennes. Visitors to the EVER show in Monaco will be able to test drive two Citroën cars, the C1 HDi 55 and the C2 Stop & Start.

The C4 Bio Flex , to be launched in France in September, is a flex-fuel vehicle running on a petrol/ethanol blend containing between 0% and 85% ethanol.
Citroën already sells flex-fuel versions of the C3 and Xsara Picasso in Brazil, a country where flex-fuel vehicles account for 65% of the Marque’s sales.

 The C3 CNG runs mainly on compressed natural gas, which cuts CO2 emissions by about 20% compared with a petrol engine and emits no sulphur oxides or lead. In partnership with French gas utility Gaz de France, compressors can be installed at customers' houses, enabling them to easily recharge their vehicles at home.

 The C1 HDi 55 is extremely economical on fuel and emits just 109 g/km of CO2. Like all Citroën’s diesel vehicles, it can run on diesel fuel blends containing up to 30% vegetable oil methyl ester*.

 The C2 Stop & Start is, along with its C3 Stop & Start sister, part of the micro-hybrid petrol range. These cars cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by around 10% in the city, and up to 15% in particularly congested traffic , by combining two state-of-the-art technologies: an electronically controlled reversible alternator and the SensoDrive gearbox.

* For blends containing between 10% and 30% vegetable oil methyl ester or biodiesel, the use of biodiesel applies only to captive fleets, pending the precise definition of specifications and of a biodiesel blend standard.
